My mom is going to take the train to New York to have lunch with me on Sunday afternoon… you have no idea how happy this makes me. It’s not Philadelphia, but it’ll be a quick cure for the homesickness I’ve been feeling lately. Now if only she could convince my stubborn dad to come as well…
What’s that, Tumblr? You didn’t know about my love and affection for my hero and all around badass, Manny Puig?
You can see him here, posing with my sister Andrea in a loving yet aggressive embrace (much like his handle of gators and other wild folk). My sister had the honor of his presence in her bar a few years ago the weekend of the Jackass 2 premiere. Knowing my love of him (and generally being a good sister), she asked for a picture with him to send to me. Being a sad and lonely girl living in Philadelphia, I was instantly jealous to know that my hero had been in my family’s presence without me there. One day, Manny, one day…
(side note; Manny ended up hitting on my sister and telling her that he was staying at the Best Western for the weekend… we later laughed that the Jackass guys couldn’t put him up in better accomodations, but fuck, Manny’s used to roughin it so I’m sure the ‘ol BW was more than enough for my man!)
Upon googling “Things to do in Tampa” (a very common thing for someone leaving for NYC/London in a week), I discovered that you can visit the Yuengling Brewery. There is now an epic battle in mind; the brewery vs. Gatorworld; what’s the better destination for my December Florida trip? Decisions!
**Update: I just found out Gatorland is where they filmed the Jackass stuff. In honor of my personal life hero, Manny, my heart is still with Gatorland.
